Kuusamo Lätkä flies far! Casting distance might not seem like the most important factor, but according to experienced sea trout anglers, it can make a significant difference. A few extra metres can be especially valuable when fishing from a boat for wary sea trout. Get too close to the fishing spot, and the trout may disappear.

Lätkä’s long-casting ability is also an advantage when targeting fish in heavy surf and you don’t want to take the boat too close to the rocks.

Fish Lätkä with a stop-and-go technique. Pause your retrieve for a second or two to let the lure sink and attract fish. Some anglers add a short, sharp twitch with the rod just before the pause. This often makes Lätkä turn sideways and sink with a vibrating action towards the bottom — an irresistible trigger for sea trout.
